The Mercury 2 Ethboard is an optional add-on board that enables easy access to the on-board 10/100 Ethernet PHY (Microchip LAN8720A) available on the Mercury 2 FPGA Development Board. The Ethboard provides a standard RJ45 Ethernet jack, allowing you to quickly bring wired Ethernet connectivity to your Mercury 2 designs without additional hardware development.
The Ethboard has two different connection methods to the Mercury 2 board:
1) Included 0.1″ pin headers allow the Ethboard to be directly mounted on top of the Mercury 2 board, forming a compact, rigid assembly.
2) For applications requiring physical separation or alternate mounting, the Ethboard also includes an 8-pin JST PH header and pigtail cable.
For either connection method, soldering is required to install the provided headers on both the Ethboard and the Mercury-2 board.
